Faith Cleary is a Certified Professional Dog Trainer – Knowledge Assessed. She is a positive reinforcement trainer and does not use aversive methods to rehabilitate behavior issues.

While completing the Canine Behavior Education program at Houston’s Friends for Life Animal Shelter, Faith dedicated over 2,000 hours rehabilitating shelter dogs with difficult behavior issues. Through this rigorous training program Faith learned the critical importance of analyzing a dog’s body language, how behavior issues develop, and the impact of a dog’s environment. She loves to unravel complex behaviors and watching people restore their relationships with their canine companions.

Faith is also devoted to helping people and their dogs have positive experiences at the veterinarian’s office. In 2018 Faith’s French Bulldog, Kipper, had an anxiety attack while getting his nails trimmed. He passed out and went into a coma. Fortunately, his veterinarian, Washington Heights Veterinary Clinic, saved his life. After this experience Faith committed herself to learning how to help dogs cooperate and relax for veterinary procedures. She educates clients on how to prepare their dog for nail trims, shots, baths, providing enrichment when kenneled for a prolonged period, and how to overcome fear of the veterinary office.

In addition to holding her CPDT-KA certification, Faith is a graduate of the International Association of Animal Behavior Consultants’ intensive course, “Animal Behavior Consulting Principles and Practice.” This course sets the new standard for animal behavior consultant education.

When not working, Faith spends time learning to train horses and hiking with her beloved canines, Scout and Huey.
